MW Chateau began to produce wine since the 17th century. The Mattschoss family brought their rich European heritage to the Barossa Valley in South Australia where they have cultivated vineyards and produced world-class wines for over 6 generations. The MW chateau maintains carefully selected premium Shiraz vines which are more than 30 years old. Our best wines come from vines that produces only 1.5 kilograms of grapes. When these grapes ripen, the chateau labourers pick the best grapes by hand and transport them to our winemaking facilities. With the idea of pure nature and zero pollution they separate all from picking and skin soaking to fermentation in oak barrels. Finally, each bottle of wine condenses excess of more than 600 grapes picked from old Shiraz vines.
